The graceful arches of Daugavas Loki (Daugava Meanders) twist together the fates of the people who populate the river banks as surely as day follows night, and summer comes after winter… As a part of protected landscape territory Augšdaugava (The Upper Daugava), “Daugavas Loki” Nature Park is included in the Latvian national list of UNESCO world heritage. Nature Park boasts the hillfort of Vecpils with ruins of the 13th century castle once ruled by the Livonian Order, Village of Slutiski, “Daugava Gates” and the manor park of Juzefova with its unique glen. At least once in a lifetime everyone should walk the paths of Augšdaugava and enjoy the landscape from the steep slopes of Adamova, Ververi and Slutiski.
