Description
Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre is a multifunctional hub for contemporary art, culture and education, located in the historical artillery arsenal building (1833) of Daugavpils Fortress. In a place where antiquity goes hand in hand with modernity, creating a unique and inspiring environment for diverse forms of creative expression and experience. The Rothko Centre was opened on 24 April 2013. Five years on, it is still the only place in Eastern Europe that displays original works by the world-renowned artist Mark Rothko (1903–1970).
